About This Role
GEMS Education is on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Primary SENCO to become a part of our Inclusion Team in Dubai. This is a remarkable opportunity for a dedicated, organized, and driven individual who is enthusiastic about aiding students of determination and reinforcing inclusion as a fundamental value within our educational community. Reporting directly to the Head of Inclusion, you will be instrumental in ensuring that high-quality, compliant, and effective provision is maintained throughout the primary phase. We seek a proactive team player with strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a firm commitment to best practices in inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Head of Inclusion in executing the school’s strategic vision, Inclusion Policy, and ensuring complete compliance with KHDA/DSIB standards.
• Oversee and assess provision for students of determination in the Primary phase, including managing IEPs/pupil profiles, intervention strategies, and alternative pathways.
• Ensure that all inclusion-related documents—such as PPs, IEPs, assessments, reports, and external documentation—are accurately completed and submitted within specified deadlines.
• Engage in quality assurance measures, including learning walks, data analysis, impact evaluations, lesson planning assistance, and preparation for inspections.
• Lead, manage, and nurture Inclusion Teachers and Learning Support Assistants, providing quality coaching, performance assessments, and opportunities for professional development.
• Monitor and analyze student data to assess progress and evaluate the success of interventions and provisions.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, LSAs, parents, and external specialists to ensure robust communication and coordinated support.
• Offer expert advice on differentiation, inclusive practice strategies, and classroom support mechanisms.
• Assist with admissions procedures, transition planning, and arranging access for students of determination.
Requirements
Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (mandatory).
• A postgraduate qualification or certification in SEN/Inclusion (mandatory).
• Additional training in inclusive education, intervention methods, or educational psychology is a plus.
Experience
• A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a SENCO, Inclusion Lead, or similar role within a primary school environment.
• Proven track record of supporting students of determination with diverse needs.
• In-depth understanding of KHDA/DSIB inclusion standards and the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework.
• Demonstrated experience in data management, overseeing interventions, and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively, work as part of a team, and provide hands-on support in classroom settings.
