As a vital member of our growing team, you will play a key role in instilling our British values within the Primary phase and ensuring that students gain the digital literacy skills necessary for success in today’s world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver captivating Computing lessons that align with the National Curriculum for England, fostering a passion for digital learning and technology.
- Equip students with essential skills in computational thinking, problem-solving, and coding to prepare them for future technological advancements.
- Foster an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and digital fluency.
- Incorporate global perspectives, interdisciplinary connections, and project-based learning to develop well-rounded, future-ready students.
- Leverage a diverse array of educational technologies, programming languages, and digital tools to enrich the learning experience.
- Encourage the safe and responsible use of technology, ensuring students understand online safety, digital citizenship, and cybersecurity principles.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate digital learning across the curriculum and support staff professional development as needed.
- Partner with parents and the wider school community to foster awareness of technology’s role in education.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education focusing on Computing/ICT or a BA/BSc with a PGCE (or an equivalent teaching qualification).
- Fully qualified teacher with QTS and at least one year of experience teaching Computing within the National Curriculum for England.
- In-depth knowledge of computational thinking, coding (e.g., Scratch, Python), robotics, and digital literacy.
- A dedication to enhancing academic standards and helping students develop essential digital skills for the future.
- An innovative educator who embraces research-driven pedagogy and contemporary teaching practices.
- Strong classroom management skills that foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A reflective practitioner eager to engage in the school’s Professional Learning Community and pursue continuous professional development.
Desirable:
- Understanding of safeguarding and digital safeguarding practices to ensure students' online safety and well-being.
- Experience with STEM initiatives, robotics, or coding clubs to enhance student engagement in digital learning.
- Familiarity with cloud-based learning platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to support blended learning approaches.
