About This Role

Bahlool British International School, a prestigious British international establishment situated in Baghdad, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Primary.

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will oversee the Primary phase, guaranteeing high standards of teaching and learning while contributing to the school’s strategic development. The Role

The appointed individual will be tasked with:


Providing strategic leadership and management for the Primary phase (KS1 & KS2), ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and student performance.


Supervising curriculum design and implementation in accordance with the British educational framework.


Driving school improvement initiatives, including standards assessment, data analysis, and enhancing student achievement.


Supporting and developing staff through coaching, performance evaluations, and opportunities for professional advancement.


Ensuring effective safeguarding, behavior management, and student wellbeing across the Primary phase.


Collaborating with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team on the overall school strategy and improvement planning.


Building strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider school community.


Actively participating in the broader life and ethos of the school.

Requirements


A bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline; a master’s degree in education or leadership is preferred.


A recognized teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).


Significant teaching experience, with at least 3–5 years in Primary education.


Proven experience in a leadership or management role within an educational context.


A thorough understanding of the British curriculum (KS1 & KS2).


Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills with the ability to lead change initiatives.


A commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and promoting student wellbeing.


The capability to foster a positive school culture and advocate for inclusive education.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
