About This Role

The British International School Hanoi is seeking an exceptional educator to join our vibrant and skilled team as Head of Computer Science, starting in August 2025.

The Role
The Computer Science Department at BIS Hanoi is a progressive, collaborative, and innovative team committed to providing a cutting-edge education that aligns with the latest technological advancements. We emphasize creativity, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills in our students.

Our curriculum, rooted in the English National Curriculum, provides students in Years 7-9 with a solid grounding in both theoretical and practical computing concepts. In Years 10-11, we offer Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science, which leads into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12-13, where students are encouraged to utilize their knowledge in more complex scenarios.

We are in search of a visionary leader capable of inspiring and motivating both students and staff. The ideal candidate will be an innovative educator with a track record of delivering engaging lessons that challenge and captivate learners of all abilities. Strong teamwork skills are crucial, and familiarity with Java programming is a notable advantage.

Purpose of the role
· To lead and manage the daily operations of the Computer Science Department.
· As a vital middle leader, assist in crafting long-term strategies to enhance standards within the subject and the school overall.
· Cultivate a culture of high performance within the team, prioritizing learning and student well-being.
· Promote a collaborative, risk-taking, and supportive culture, and advocate for a shared vision.
· Oversee the continuous development of the curriculum, teaching and learning standards, and departmental resources.
