Salary: GLC Point 10 £25,549 [Actual Pro Rata Salary £2,961.24]

Working Pattern: 5 hours per week, Term time only

Contract: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

The Gateway Primary Free School is part of the Gateway Learning Community [GLC] which is a partnership of one secondary academy and four primary academies located within Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary in the borough of Thurrock, to the east of London. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and compassionate Breakfast Club Assistant to join our dedicated team.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Morning Setup & Prep: Help prepare and set up the dining and activity areas before children arrive.
  2. Food Service: Assist in preparing and serving a range of healthy breakfast options (toast, cereal, fruit, juices) while adhering to food hygiene and dietary requirements.
  3. Child Supervision: Supervise pupils to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment at all times.
  4. Activities & Engagement: Help organize and run engaging morning activities, games, and crafts.
  5. Clean-Up & Handover: Ensure the kitchen and hall are cleaned, sanitized, and tidy, and assist with handing children over safely to their teachers for the start of the school day.


About You

  1. Experience: Previous experience working with primary-aged children (in a school, childcare, or youth club setting) is preferred, but not essential.
  2. Attributes: Friendly, patient, approachable, and a good team player with strong communication skills.
  3. Qualifications: Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and First Aid training are desirable (training can be provided for the right candidate).
  4. Reliability: Punctuality is essential, as the club requires a prompt start every morning.
