Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled English/Humanities Teacher to join our secondary team starting in August 2026.
The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons in English and Humanities, creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where every student can thrive both academically and personally.
This role requires strong planning, assessment, and instructional skills, aimed at encouraging students to achieve their maximum potential while fostering a love for learning and cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding lessons in English and Humanities to secondary-level students.
- Craft engaging, student-centered lessons that promote literacy, critical thinking, and cultural understanding.
- Consistently evaluate student progress and deliver constructive feedback.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that motivates students to participate and learn.
- Integrate digital resources and educational technologies to enhance teaching and student engagement.
- Offer individualized support to students as necessary, including help with literacy and study skills.
- Participate in the wider school community through events, cultural projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and maintain high standards within the department.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong subject knowledge in English and Humanities.
- Experience teaching secondary school students.
- Familiar with British curriculum standards.
- Skilled in planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction suited to diverse abilities.
- Able to design engaging lessons that promote literacy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness.
- Proficient in using digital tools and online learning platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Professional, enthusiastic, and committed to continuous professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Humanities, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent) with QTS or international equivalence.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a British curriculum school.
