About This Role

Taylor's International School Kuala Lumpur (TIS KL) is on the lookout for an accomplished Assistant Head with expertise in Digital Literacy as well as Teaching and Learning for our Secondary School.

Position Overview

The Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, and Digital Literacy will oversee all curriculum-related functions within TIS KL Secondary. This crucial role ensures that teaching remains engaging, relevant, challenging, and integrated. Furthermore, the position involves managing the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and training of staff, both through internal initiatives and external opportunities, whether conducted in groups or individually. We are looking for a specialist in digital learning and literacy transformation, capable of developing impactful programs that enhance student experiences and promote the integration of technology and Computer Science.

This is a senior leadership role within the Secondary school.

Digital Literacy Responsibilities:


Staying current with knowledge and experience in utilizing AI as a resource for teaching and learning within educational environments.


Being knowledgeable about the integration of digital tools in classrooms for educational purposes.


Having a track record in establishing and leading digital education projects for students, focusing on coding, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and robotics.


Providing training for staff to create a dedicated core team focused on advancing digital literacy throughout the school.


Collaborating with the primary tech lead to develop comprehensive, school-wide programs and projects.


Engaging with digital leaders across the Taylor’s Schools network to create collaborative projects, competitions, and opportunities for both staff and students.


Maintaining a strong understanding of the risks associated with technology use among teenagers and designing programs to help young learners safely navigate the online world, which aligns with the school’s Care for Self and Care for Others initiatives.

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities:


Coordinating the CPD program across the Secondary school while collaborating with the Primary school on Whole School initiatives.


Ensuring staff have access to appropriate external courses and conferences as required.


Leading CPD sessions that focus on key aspects of digital literacy and teaching and learning for staff.


Managing learning walks and the school's performance management system.


Regularly updating curriculum information for the parent community.


Holding workshops for parents regarding the school’s curriculum and pedagogical strategies.


Promoting and implementing the school’s pedagogical framework.


Leading the team of Lead Teachers to ensure continual training and improvement in teaching quality within the school.


Facilitating the induction process for new staff covering all aspects of teaching, learning, and curriculum.

Candidates must provide contact details for two referees, including one from their current or most recent Principal/Headteacher.

Applicants should possess a recognized teaching qualification along with at least 5 years of teaching experience. International experience is highly desirable.
