About Thames British School

Thames British School is an international institution providing a superior British education for students aged 3 to 18. We are proud to be affiliated with NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) and COBIS (Council of British International Schools), adhering to the National Curriculum for England, which ensures our students receive a comprehensive, rigorous, and inclusive educational experience.

Our school community is vibrant, supportive, and dedicated to fostering confident, creative, and independent learners.

We are currently looking for a passionate and committed Secondary English Teacher to become part of our team starting in August 2026. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering captivating lessons, creating a positive classroom atmosphere, and contributing to the broader activities of the school.

KS3, KS4 & Sixth Form (IB and A-levels) English Teacher – Role Overview

As an English Teacher, you will be tasked with ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, while promoting the academic progress, success, and well-being of all students. You will ensure equal opportunities and uphold the highest standards of work and conduct in an international environment that offers both Cambridge and IB programmes.

The individual in this role will plan, deliver, and assess English lessons in line with the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum at KS3, the Cambridge IGCSE specifications at KS4, and Cambridge International AS and A Level English at KS5, in addition to IBDP Language A and B. This includes ensuring that the schemes of work are well-structured, academically challenging, and aimed at enhancing reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills. You will align with both Cambridge and IB educational philosophies, encouraging critical thinking, independent learning, and an international perspective.
