About This Role

Key Responsibilities:


Create and implement captivating, age-appropriate ICT, Computing, and STEM lessons in English for students in Years 1–6, in accordance with the school's modified IPC curriculum;


Introduce students to essential programming concepts and computational thinking through visual programming languages like ScratchJr, Scratch, Blockly, Tynker, and CoSpaces Edu;


Enhance students' digital literacy skills, including typing, online research, multimedia production (e.g., Canva, iMovie, GarageBand), and internet safety practices;


Collaborate with classroom teachers and year-level teams to weave technology and STEM into transdisciplinary and theme-based learning units;


Oversee and manage ICT suites, iPad/laptop carts, robotics kits (e.g., Bee-Bot, LEGO WeDo, Micro:bit), alongside relevant STEM resources and software;


Create and apply formative and summative assessments, track student development, and effectively communicate results to parents;


Facilitate at least one after-school club or co-curricular activity (CCA) each term focused on technology, coding, or robotics;


Aid in coordinating school-wide technology initiatives such as Tech Week, coding contests, and parent workshops;


Engage in school events, parent-teacher conferences, professional development opportunities, and department meetings, contributing actively to the school community.

Qualifications:


Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Primary Education, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred);


Certification: A valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, State License, or international equivalent), with a preference for primary specialization;


Experience: At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in primary ICT, Computing, or Digital Literacy; experience with IPC, Cambridge Primary, or IB PYP is highly desirable;


Skills: Competence in utilizing visual programming tools (ScratchJr, Scratch, Blockly), robotics kits (Bee-Bot, LEGO WeDo, Micro:bit), and creative media software (iMovie, GarageBand, Canva); experience in integrating technology into cross-curricular or transdisciplinary units is a significant asset;


Solid foundational knowledge of computational thinking, digital citizenship, and pedagogical methods suitable for primary technology education;


Creative, patient, and capable of motivating young learners through play-based, inquiry-driven, and project-oriented approaches;


Proficient in managing ICT resources, including device carts, robotics kits, and software licenses, demonstrating excellent organizational skills and accountability;


A genuine passion for educating young children and a dedication to ongoing professional development.

Compensation

£2,500 - £4,000 per month
