THE ROLE

We are looking to hire an exceptional and seasoned school leader to provide direction and inspiration as part of the Secondary Senior Leadership Team. In this vital role, you will significantly contribute to the school's operations and help shape its academic future. As the Assistant Headteacher, you will take charge of Pastoral Care within the Secondary School. Alongside the other Assistant Headteachers (Teaching, Learning & Assessment; Head of Sixth Form; Student Enrichment and Experience) and the Head of Secondary, you will form the Secondary School Leadership Team (SSLT). Typical responsibilities for an Assistant Head include:

- Leading initiatives in pastoral care and professional development related to student welfare and growth.

- Overseeing the line management of Year Leaders and the school counselor.

- Managing various operational areas such as cover, duties, pastoral handbooks, behavior policies, attendance, House points, and aspects of student leadership.

- Contributing to shared SSLT responsibilities and strategic planning (e.g., recruitment, induction, development planning, etc.).

Candidates are encouraged to showcase relevant experiences and indicate any specific interests.

A teaching commitment is expected, to be finalized once the timetable is established. Please specify which subject(s) you can teach and at what level.

- Experience as a Middle and/or Senior Leader.
- A degree in your area of specialization.

The Successful Candidate will possess:

- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, HDipEd, or equivalent).
- A current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure for all countries of residence.
- Compliance with visa regulations for employment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students, along with a willingness to engage in relevant child protection training as needed.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
