About This Role

Location: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Qingdao, Tongxiang, Yantai, Hongkong.

Duties:
A. Knowledge and Understanding:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of the ICT subject as outlined in the National Curriculum, IGCSE, and IB.
- Maintain a strong grasp of ICT content.
- Effectively address subject-related inquiries from students and be aware of common misconceptions and errors within the subject area.
- Understand all secondary school curriculum and assessment standards.

B. Planning and Setting Expectations:
- Establish clear teaching objectives, content, and lesson structures that suit the subject matter and the students.
- Set challenging yet attainable expectations for student learning and motivation. Establish clear goals that build on prior knowledge and experiences.
- Recognize students with special educational needs as well as those who are gifted and talented, and know the appropriate resources for providing targeted support. Implement and document Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as necessary.

C. Teaching and Managing Student Learning:
- Ensure effective instruction for whole classes, small groups, and individuals to meet teaching objectives, maintain momentum and challenge, and optimize teaching time.
- Employ engaging teaching methods that stimulate students' intellectual curiosity, employ effective questioning techniques, present information clearly, and utilize resources effectively.
- Uphold high expectations for student behavior, fostering a positive classroom environment through focused teaching and strong, productive relationships.
- Encourage positive behavior patterns, boost self-esteem, and foster independent learning within the ICT framework.

D. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and use assessment results to inform future teaching practices.
- Provide constructive oral and written feedback on students’ classwork and homework, setting targets to guide their progress.
- Understand the expectations placed on students in relation to the National Curriculum, KS4, and KS5 when applicable.

E. Relations with Parents and the Wider Community:
- Be adept at preparing and delivering informative reports to parents.
- Acknowledge that learning extends beyond the classroom and create opportunities for students to connect their education to real-world applications.
- Recognize the importance of collaborating with external agencies.

F. Managing Own Performance and Development:
- Take responsibility for personal professional growth and stay informed about research and advancements in pedagogy and relevant subjects.
- Understand professional responsibilities concerning school policies, guidelines, and practices.
- Serve as a positive role model for students in terms of presentation and conduct.
- Critically assess one's own teaching to enhance effectiveness.

G. Managing and Developing Staff and Other Adults:
- Build constructive working relationships with colleagues, including co-teachers, specialists, and support staff.

H. Managing Resources:
- Select and effectively utilize books, equipment, ICT, and other educational resources to achieve teaching goals.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and teaching certification or license with strong subject knowledge.
- At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a school environment.

- Demonstrate a thorough approach to teaching across various year levels.
- Show commitment to teamwork.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
