Aldar Academies is seeking a Teacher - Humanities for Yas American Academy, situated on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, for the academic year 2025/26. Responsibilities
Main Duties
- Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to excel and realize their full potential.

Specific Duties
Teaching and Learning:
- A thorough understanding of the curriculum.
- Organizing classroom resources and establishing displays to create a positive and dynamic learning environment.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to the varied abilities within the class.
- Inspiring students through enthusiastic and creative teaching methods.
- Observing and evaluating students in accordance with school standards.
- Reflecting on classroom practice, teaching sessions, and student progress to adjust the environment, planning, and curriculum as needed.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, when required.
- Ensuring that the Yas American Academy's Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are integrated throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data:
- Taking responsibility for the progress of the class.
- Following guidelines for assessing and documenting students' development through Target Tracker.
- Using assessment data to guide future planning, provision, and interventions.
- Providing feedback to parents and guardians about student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour Management and Duties:
- Adhering to the school's behavior policy.
- Effectively managing classrooms, utilizing strategies suited to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
- Building positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the school's behavioral framework.
- Serving as a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
- Upholding high expectations for behavior, fostering self-control and independence among all learners.
- Performing duties as assigned in accordance with the school's policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Collaborating as part of a curriculum action group to support planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
- Assisting in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and activities.
