Job Title: School Cleaner
Location: Crookhey Hall, Cockerham, Lancaster, LA2 0HA
Hours: 16 per week | Monday to Friday
Rota: Monday to Thursday 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Friday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Salary: £9,455.20 per annum (£13.25 per hour, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: May 2026

About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and proactive School Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for our students, staff, and visitors. Your contributions will be essential in upholding a hygienic atmosphere conducive to learning. This behind-the-scenes position is crucial for the effective operation of our school, and your meticulous attention to detail will have a positive impact every day.

As a School Cleaner, you will collaborate with the Site Manager and the broader school team to perform routine cleaning tasks, respond to immediate requests, and ensure all areas of the school adhere to our stringent cleanliness and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and shared areas.
- Complete additional or special cleaning duties as needed.
- Adapt your work schedule around the school timetable, accommodating events and activities.
- Handle and store cleaning materials safely in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify when stocks need replenishing.
- Promptly identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Uphold the school's safeguarding standards through vigilance and safe practices.

Who We’re Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a school or similar setting.
- Familiarity with COSHH guidelines and safe cleaning methods.
- Capability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.
- Punctual, reliable, and professional demeanor at all times.
- A positive attitude with a focus on teamwork.
- Dedication to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
