Due to the ongoing success of GEMS Metropole Al-Waha in Dubai, we are excited to invite applications for the role of Deputy SENDCo/Deputy Head of Inclusion, starting in August 2026. We are currently seeking a remarkable and innovative leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Deputy SENDCo/Deputy Head of Inclusion. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering excellence throughout the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with the SENDCo to develop and oversee individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Offer support and training to teaching staff concerning inclusive practices.
- Cultivate strong connections with students and their families, ensuring their needs are addressed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and foster a culture of high performance.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education OR Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a Teaching Diploma in Special Education.
- Experience supporting students with diverse needs and familiarity with inclusive practices.
- Solid grasp of current legislation and best practices in inclusion.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a knack for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, with the capacity to spearhead initiatives promoting inclusive practices.
- A creative and enthusiastic mindset towards problem-solving and teaching.
- Dedication to continuous professional development and a growth-oriented attitude.
- Ability to analyze student data and make informed decisions to facilitate student progress.
