SUMMARY: Opaskwayak Education Services is committed to the revitalization of language, culture, spiritual beliefs, and traditional knowledge to enhance the learning experience of each student. We are in search of passionate and dedicated English teachers who can cultivate a positive and culturally relevant learning atmosphere for the students at Joe A. Ross School.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Bachelor of Education is essential
- A satisfactory child abuse registry check and criminal record check must be completed prior to employment
DUTIES:
- Comply with the Teachers Code of Conduct and the OCN/OES Employee Code of Conduct
- Arrive punctually and treat all staff and students with respect
- Plan and deliver the approved curriculum effectively
- Create a learning environment that is pleasant, respectful, conducive, and orderly for student engagement
- Assess student progress and clarify the evaluation methods to be used in each course
- Submit reports and attendance to the principal as necessary
- Improve teaching and learning outcomes by utilizing assessment results
- Refer students to appropriate special services when needed
- Ensure that timetables, lesson plans, mark books, or any other relevant documents are finalized and submitted upon departing from their last teaching role
- Perform any other duties as assigned
