About This Role
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Christian Life School (Peace River North) is seeking a full-time Principal for the 2025-2026 academic year. The chosen candidate may also have the opportunity to teach part-time in their area of expertise when feasible. As an accredited independent institution, Christian Life School (CLS) serves a diverse population of approximately 130 students from Kindergarten through Junior High. Our dedicated staff prioritize inspiring and empowering students to realize their full potential while encouraging them to venture beyond their comfort zones to achieve academic success and personal growth.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· A valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one). We are prepared to assist the ideal candidate in obtaining certification if it is issued from another province.
· Alignment with our doctrinal statement and agreement with the purpose and philosophies of our Christian faith-based school and its policies.
· A readiness to engage in part-time or full-time teaching alongside administrative duties.
· Adaptability to take on various course assignments as needed (minimum requirement of a minor in a teachable subject at the secondary level as recognized by the BC Ministry of Education).
· Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to cater to diverse student needs.
· Proficient classroom management skills and strategies that foster both an effective learning atmosphere and uphold student dignity.
· A commitment to implementing school initiatives and goals within the classroom setting.
· A collaborative spirit to work with team members in developing and executing individualized learning plans for students facing academic, social, and emotional challenges.
· Willingness to engage collaboratively with staff on the school improvement plan and participate in professional development.

ABOUT CHRISTIAN LIFE SCHOOL: Our facilities have recently undergone renovations, and we have enhanced our playground, which includes a spacious outdoor field and gym. Our technology resources have been upgraded, and our small class sizes promote meaningful teacher-student engagement. Christian Life School is situated on the eastern flank of the Rocky Mountains, at the northern tip of the Canadian Prairies, in the picturesque city of Fort St. John, BC. Fort St. John is located 478 km northeast of Prince George and 1,237 km north of Vancouver, near the Alberta border, and 214 km west of Grande Prairie, Alberta. As one of the largest cities along the Alaska Highway, Fort St. John offers a variety of amenities, including an indoor walking track, large swimming pools, and extensive outdoor walking, jogging, and hiking trails. Housing prices in the area are competitive with other cities in the region, and we are conveniently located within driving distance of the Rocky Mountains, offering winter sports such as snowmobiling, skiing, and snowboarding, as well as summer activities like fishing, swimming, boating, and hiking for a delightful seasonal experience.
