About This Role

Primary German Teacher (m/f/d)

St. George’s School Munich is on the lookout for a dedicated professional to join our vibrant primary department as a German teacher, starting in August 2026.

The School

Established in September 2013, St. George’s School Munich has quickly evolved into a thriving community with approximately 800 students and 100 educators. As the school continues its expansion, we anticipate welcoming even more pupils. Our ethos emphasizes a rich educational experience coupled with a family-like atmosphere, making it an inviting environment for both staff and students.

In September 2017, we transitioned to a newly constructed campus situated in the heart of the city, providing exceptional facilities for diverse age groups and subjects.

The National Curriculum is implemented throughout the institution, with IGCSE qualifications offered to students in our Upper School. Sixth Form learners prepare for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

As part of a network of three schools across Germany, St. George’s presents the successful candidate with numerous opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the group.

The Location

Our new campus is located in Schwabing-Freimann, north of Munich's city center. The location boasts excellent access to the U6 metro line and the A9 motorway.

As the capital of Bavaria and Germany's third-largest city, Munich is a lively cultural hub with a diverse international community. Nestled at the northern foothills of the Alps, the city offers a high quality of life along with many travel and outdoor activity options.

Munich Airport is situated 30km from the school, with frequent flights to the UK and high-speed rail services connecting the city to various European destinations.

The Role

We are searching for a qualified German teacher, capable of instructing both first and/or second language learners, to join our active German department in the primary school.

All students engage in German courses tailored to their age and proficiency. Native speakers follow the local Bavarian German curriculum, while second language learners pursue a curriculum designed to meet their specific needs. German teachers play a crucial role across the primary department, closely monitoring student progress and maintaining regular communication with parents.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator with a track record of helping students reach their full potential. We seek someone who embodies a blend of experience, passion, and enthusiasm that will motivate and inspire our pupils.

Proficiency in both English and German is essential. Familiarity with the English National Curriculum and the Bavarian curriculum for German would also be advantageous.

As the school continues to grow, the ability to be flexible and support team members is critical. A strong commitment to contributing to the enriched pastoral and extracurricular life of the school will be an added benefit.
