About This Role

ESF Wu Kai Sha International Kindergarten (WKSK) is an innovative educational community dedicated to providing enriching experiences for children aged 3-5 years. We are looking for a Mainscale Class Teacher to become part of our outstanding team of skilled and experienced educators. Contract start date: August 2026

As an Early Years Teacher at WKSK, you will cultivate an inclusive, safe, and stimulating learning atmosphere where young children engage in learning through play, exploration, inquiry, and meaningful experiences. Aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), you will support the development of children's curiosity, agency, and international-mindedness while closely collaborating with colleagues, families, and the broader school community to foster each child's holistic development, ensuring they acquire the foundational skills, understandings, and knowledge necessary for success.

Key Responsibilities



Establish a warm, inclusive classroom where every child feels secure, valued, and empowered to share their thoughts and interests.


Develop engaging, play-based learning settings that encourage exploration, independence, creativity, and active participation.


Engage with children to guide, enhance, and deepen their learning and skill development.


Plan and execute transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry and learning activities that respect children’s voice, choice, and ownership.


Facilitate intentional play that promotes experimentation, risk-taking, self-regulation, and social-emotional development.


Encourage international-mindedness and intercultural understanding in everyday practices.


Employ effective assessment techniques and pedagogical documentation to capture learning, track progress, and guide planning.


Offer constructive feedback and tailored support to navigate each child's learning journey.


Utilize positive behavior strategies to foster social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.


Incorporate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to eliminate barriers and ensure equitable access and engagement for all learners.


Forge strong partnerships with families through consistent, clear communication, parent conferences, workshops, and shared celebrations of learning.


Play an active role in collaborative planning, whole-school initiatives, and professional learning communities.


Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in accordance with school policies and IB ethical standards.

Requirements


Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Early Childhood Education), or a Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a PGCE/PGDE in Early Childhood Education, or an equivalent qualification that qualifies them to teach children aged 3-5.


Experience working with young children (3-5 years old) in an educational setting.


Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is preferred.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
