About This Role
The British School of Barcelona (BSB) stands as a premier international institution located in a picturesque setting. Recognized as an HMC school, our recent inspection by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) highlighted our excellence across all domains, including the quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare, and academic performance.
BSB serves a large and esteemed community, catering to students aged 3 to 18. Our educational framework is grounded in the English National Curriculum, offering a comprehensive selection of GCSEs, A Levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, complemented by an extensive enrichment programme that nurtures the holistic development of each child.
With over 2000 students from more than 74 nationalities and a dedicated staff of over 315, BSB is vibrant and diverse. In 2026, we will inaugurate our new, cutting-edge campus in Maresme, situated east of Barcelona city. In response to increasing demand, this campus will initially welcome students from Nursery to Year 6. This ambitious project will feature a variety of specialist facilities, including adaptable classrooms, science labs, fully equipped music and art rooms, rehearsal spaces, designated areas for play, socializing, and studying, as well as outstanding indoor and outdoor sports amenities, all set within breathtaking surroundings, bordered by mountains and the Mediterranean coast. It promises to be an extraordinary place to learn and work.
As we expand, we are currently on the lookout for additional primary teachers to become part of the founding team at BSB Maresme. Simultaneously, our established Barcelona City campus continues to grow and enhance its offerings as part of the broader BSB community. In preparation for the upcoming academic year and ongoing development of our programmes, we are also seeking Early Years and Primary teachers to join our team there.
BSB’s commitment to providing an exceptional student experience, achieving strong academic results, and fostering character development and a global mindset has propelled our success. We are ambitious and forward-thinking, always seeking to improve. Our culture of professional growth, collaboration, and reflective practice ensures that our staff is supported in their career development.
Given our expansion across campuses, we are eager to find outstanding teachers to join our team. If you are interested in being a part of a unique endeavor and contributing to the next chapter of our growth, we welcome your application. A dedication to the broader school community and our enrichment programme is a key expectation of this role.
About The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering the primary curriculum in an outstanding, innovative, and inspiring manner. Assessments of students’ work will be conducted in line with school policies, aligning with performance targets.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Engage in ongoing personal development and participate in the school’s staff development initiatives.
• Actively take part in the school’s performance management programme. Attend staff meetings, open evenings, and parents’ evenings. Participate in morning assemblies and staff briefings unless otherwise assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree and QTS or an international equivalent is essential.
• Experience: Some background in a primary school, ideally within the British curriculum, is preferred; however, we are open to considering recent graduates.
If you are driven by a passion for student success and are eager to innovate within your teaching practice, we would love to hear from you.
