The “Intercultural Programme” at Collegio San Carlo spans from Kindergarten to Year 13, featuring five distinct High School streams, including the IBDP.
The primary aim of this programme is to integrate a robust international bilingual curriculum with the framework set by the Italian Ministry of Education, delivering 50% of subjects in English through a thoughtfully coordinated and cohesive approach. Each Intercultural class is co-instructed by a collaborative team of English and Italian educators. The subjects assigned to the English teachers include English, Geography, Science, Creative Arts, and Digital Studies. Additionally, specialist teachers fluent in English instruct PE and Music.
The following qualifications, experience, and attributes are essential:
- A minimum of 3-4 years teaching experience at the Lower Primary level
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Relevant Teaching Qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
- Familiarity with the Primary Cambridge International Curriculum or a similar framework
- Acknowledgment of collegiality as a fundamental educational principle
- Strong team player qualities
- Proficient digital skills; Apple Teacher training is an advantage
- Native English speaker
- Basic Italian language knowledge is preferable
- EU passport or valid work authorization for Italy
