About This Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Waldorf Class Teacher to become a part of our nurturing and expanding school community. The ideal applicant will possess a background in primary education, a thorough grasp of Waldorf pedagogical approaches, and a sincere dedication to fostering the holistic growth of every student through engaging, meaningful, and age-appropriate learning opportunities. Waldorf class teachers are expected to deeply connect with the child development principles that form the foundation of the curriculum, recognize the developmental needs of their students, and design their teaching strategies accordingly.

Responsibilities:


A Bachelor’s degree in Education (4-year pedagogical degree) is required according to Cyprus regulations.


A Steiner/Waldorf teaching qualification or at least 2 years of professional class teaching experience in an accredited Steiner Waldorf school.


A solid understanding of anthroposophy and Waldorf child development.


Extensive knowledge of the Waldorf curriculum and teaching methodologies.


Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.


Strong organizational and time-management skills.


Creative and artistic talents applicable in an educational framework.


Professional demeanor and conduct.


A genuine interest in continual self-improvement and collaborative work with colleagues.


Effectively deliver the objectives of the Waldorf Curriculum in alignment with the school’s educational goals.


Oversee and plan the delivery of the curriculum, assessments, and classroom management.


Cultivate a passion for learning, curiosity, self-reflection, and high aspirations among students.


Ensure student wellbeing and promote healthy, respectful relationships within the school community.


Engage in departmental and parent meetings, school events, and professional discussions.


Assume additional teaching responsibilities and supervise students (arrival, recess, dismissal) as needed.

Planning & Teaching Expectations:


Develop annual written plans that include:


The sequence of main lesson blocks.


Goals for academic, artistic, physical, and social development.


Weekly lesson outlines.


Conduct main lessons along with subjects such as form drawing, music, painting, drawing, modeling, and practice periods.


Depending on your expertise, assist with handwork or crafts lessons as necessary.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00

Recruitment Process:


A 30-minute panel interview with the hiring team.


A trial lesson lasting 60 minutes.


An interview with the Head of School, Principal of Primary, and Head of Faculty for 30 minutes.

Compensation
