The Position

ADNOC Schools is on the lookout for exceptional Social Studies Teachers to commence in August 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster an engaging learning environment that promotes exceptional teaching practices
  • Establish clear objectives for teaching and learning
  • Design challenging tasks that captivate students’ interests
  • Set high and appropriate expectations for students
  • Create specific targets based on students' prior achievements
  • Recognize students with special educational needs or exceptional abilities and ensure their requirements are met through tailored approaches
  • Provide structured lessons that maintain a brisk pace, motivation, and challenge
  • Utilize assessment effectively to enhance learning
  • Leverage performance data and key indicators to guide lesson planning and facilitate differentiated instruction
  • Uphold discipline in line with the school's 'Behaviour for Learning Policy,' promoting punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques to:
    • Align teaching methods with content, organize information, highlight key concepts, and utilize appropriate terminology
    • Implement effective questioning, attentively listen to students, and address errors and misconceptions
    • Select suitable learning materials and enhance study skills through library, ICT, and other educational technologies
  • Evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and use this information to improve teaching practices
  • Grade student assignments at least bi-weekly and set targets for advancement
  • Utilize performance data to inform planning and ensure that learning and teaching are effective
  • Systematically assess and document student progress, keeping records to monitor understanding and completion, identify strengths and development areas, inform planning, and recognize achievement levels
  • Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies and school protocols
  • Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents
  • Engage in subject development by creating, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and instructional schemes
  • Stay current in subject knowledge through continuous professional development and reading
  • Participate in relevant professional development workshops
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Vice Principal as necessary.

Qualifications:

You must be a fully qualified teacher with:

  • A passion for education and a nurturing approach
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies or History, or a related field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, alongside a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the relevant area
  • Familiarity with the American curriculum
  • A dedication to an extensive enrichment program
  • Recent and ongoing involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Respect for all members of the school community
  • Experience with students for whom English is an additional language
  • A positive, solution-oriented approach to professional life
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
