About This Role

We are looking for an energetic, seasoned, and visionary Head of Foundation Stage to take charge of our Early Years provision (FS1 & FS2). This critical leadership position presents a chance to influence exceptional early years practices within a British curriculum institution and make a significant contribution to the overall improvement of the school.

The Role
As the Head of Foundation Stage, you will oversee the strategic advancement, everyday management, and ongoing enhancement of the EYFS provision. Your focus will be on ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment that complies with the EYFS framework and UAE regulatory standards, all while fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish.

As an integral part of the GCS Primary Leadership Team, you will promote excellence in the following areas:
- Leadership & Management
- Student Achievement & Well-being
- Curriculum, Teaching & Assessment
- Parental Engagement & Communication
- Safeguarding and Inclusion
- Operational and Resource Management

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a clear vision for the Foundation Stage that aligns with the school’s overall goals and values.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Ensure exemplary, play-based, and inquiry-led teaching across both FS1 and FS2.
- Monitor planning, teaching, and assessment to guarantee strong progress and outcomes for all students.
- Advocate for best practices in early years pedagogy, including continuous provision and child-initiated learning.
- Oversee effective assessment systems, data analysis, and moderation processes.
- Uphold high standards in safeguarding, well-being, and inclusive practices.
- Establish strong partnerships with parents, ensuring effective communication and involvement.
- Manage the daily organization of the phase, including staffing, timetabling, and resource allocation.
- Contribute to overall school improvement and readiness for inspection (SPEA/MOE).

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have a solid record of successful leadership experience in EYFS or Primary education.
- Show a significant impact on teaching quality and student outcomes.
- Be passionate about early childhood education and innovative practices.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Be dedicated to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- Flourish in a collaborative, international school setting.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (preferably with an EYFS focus).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, including Early Years.
- Previous leadership experience in a British curriculum school is desirable.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
