Grade K/1 Teacher - medical leave coverage

Łuwechōn Kots’ede’i Kime is seeking applications for a Grade K/1 Teacher to fill a temporary medical leave, with the possibility of the position becoming permanent. Located in the Tahltan community of Iskut, BC, our school maintains high expectations for both our candidates and our students.

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate strong communication abilities and show resilience in the face of challenges.
• Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, working collaboratively with others.
• Possess robust instructional skills and be proficient in delivering the BC Ministry of Education curriculum in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Focus on student engagement and the assessment of learning outcomes.
• Develop a vibrant and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages students to embrace their identity as Tahltan children, fostering their confidence and capabilities in various ways.
• Uphold a professional attitude at all times and effectively manage challenges as a proactive problem solver.
• Supervise classroom management and provide guidance to the Learning Assistant.
• Adapt and modify programs to cater to the diverse learning requirements of students.

Candidates must:

• Be certified by the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch.
