Se-Se-Wa-Hum School, located in Big River First Nation, is seeking a motivated and positive Grade 6 Teacher to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing lesson plans across various subjects for students
- Evaluating and grading students’ comprehension and academic performance
- Communicating with students and parents to discuss educational issues
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student achievement
- Designing lesson plans and instructional strategies that align with school standards
- Conducting assessments to measure student progress and identify areas for improvement
- Establishing an engaging learning atmosphere that accommodates the diverse needs of students
- Utilizing and producing instructional materials and lesson plans through activities like quizzes, competitions, and group discussions
- Managing and guiding classroom behavior and activities
Requirements:
- Strong scheduling abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate
- Effective classroom management skills
- Capability to teach students with varied learning styles
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum
- Cross-Cultural experience is a plus
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Capability to present verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable)
