About this Role
York House School invites applications from caring, innovative, and qualified Intermediate Grade Teachers who are committed to providing an exceptional 21st-century learning experience for our students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and assessment, possess a true passion for education, and have a solid understanding of how girls learn best. This role will involve teaching Grade 4 and may include opportunities to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance students' school experiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education
- British Columbia Teaching Certification or equivalent
- Familiarity with the new BC Curriculum is a plus
- Elementary/Intermediate school qualification
- Essential experience teaching language arts, math, science, and social studies
- Proven capacity to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
- A minimum of three years of experience in Elementary/Intermediate teaching
- Coaching and/or involvement in extra-curricular activities is beneficial
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Thorough understanding of the BC Curriculum
- Knowledge of current research concerning girls and learning
- Demonstrated history as an enthusiastic, innovative, and compassionate educator
- Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects
- Collaborative, adaptable, and supportive team player
- Ability to build strong professional relationships with all stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to educating the whole student
- Proven capability to effectively integrate technology to enhance learning
- Experience in differentiating instruction and assessments to meet individual student needs
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and project-based learning methodologies
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience with online platforms such as Seesaw and Google Classroom
