About This Role

Raffles American School (RAS) is seeking a motivated and innovative ELL teacher to join our Middle & High School team for the academic year 2026.

Job Summary

At Raffles American School Bangkok, teachers are tasked with:

  • Inspiring students and guiding them to become independent learners who can adapt and thrive.
  • Acting as leaders in their areas, promoting student growth and empowerment rather than exercising hierarchical authority.
  • Collaborating respectfully with colleagues, contributing to the development of the school while valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Engaging in continuous personal and professional development, sharing knowledge with both students and fellow educators.
  • Developing a curriculum that meets the unique needs and strengths of students, contributing to curricular improvements.
  • Advocating for inclusion, believing that every student has the potential to learn and striving for maximum engagement in all classroom activities.
  • Teachers are expected to work from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on regular school days, typically engaging in around 18 hours of teaching, 5 hours of breaks, 7 hours of planning, 4 hours of meetings/training, and 6 hours of duties per week.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Follow school policies and procedures while ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Design and implement high-quality lessons, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain professional communication with supervisors, parents, and students.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, behavior, and punctuality.
  • Engage in professional development and stay updated in relevant subject areas.
  • Support student wellbeing by collaborating with the Student Support Team as necessary.
  • Encourage parental engagement in their children’s educational journeys.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Fluency in spoken and written English to facilitate effective collaboration within the RAS community.
  • A valid teaching license that qualifies for a full-time, permanent position at a US public school for the relevant subject and age group.
  • Licenses from other countries may be accepted if reciprocated by a US state (including England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Gibraltar, New Zealand, USA).
  • Exemplary professional conduct and a commitment to maintaining school standards.

We provide competitive salaries for fully qualified and licensed teachers in full-time positions, although no housing stipend is offered. Candidates will have their flights to Thailand reimbursed and will receive round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each contract (for overseas applicants only). RAS will also reimburse visa and work permit costs. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance coverage is included.

Compensation
