The role of Junior School French Teacher-On-Call will be activated as necessary to support teaching and learning in the Junior School (Kindergarten - Grade 7). The Junior School offers a dynamic and progressive community that prioritizes personal excellence, holistic child development, and overall well-being. Responsibilities:
- Act as Teacher-on-call for Grades 1 to 7
- Provide coverage for the French program for Grades 1-7
- Leave detailed notes for the regular teacher following each assignment
- Assist in supervising students during non-instructional times
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff as needed
- Deliver personalized instruction and learning assistance to individual students as required
- Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
- B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Native-like fluency and a strong command of the French language
- Experience teaching French as a second language in an elementary context is preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Commitment to the philosophy of teaching the whole child
