About This Role

Aldar Education is seeking an Assistant Principal to join Noya British School in Abu Dhabi for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the quality of work performed by staff and students, creating a safe, organized, and efficient environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist in the management of the annual school assessment and the monitoring of the master schedule, working closely with the school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and department heads.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and Vice Principal to oversee and evaluate teachers, supervisors, and designated curriculum support staff.
  • Lead the process of screening and interviewing candidates, including those for non-teaching positions, and provide recommendations for applicants to be interviewed.
  • Implement strategies aimed at enhancing student achievement in accordance with the school development plan and ADEK regulations, as directed by Aldar Education. This encompasses developing school improvement plans, standardized testing, remediation efforts, data collection and reporting, as well as creating special schedules and testing procedures as required.
  • Manage student achievement initiatives, which include overseeing the MAP/Exact Path student achievement plan, establishing a progress-based testing schedule in coordination with assessment coordinators, and managing processes related to the assessment and reporting of student progress and attainment, data collection, student records, and archiving.
  • Work with the SLT to introduce new or revised instructional methods, materials, strategies, and programs.
  • Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing plans for continuous professional development (CPD) for staff that encourages professional growth and enhances the quality and efficiency of teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a B.Sc degree with PGCE is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience, including 4 consecutive years of teaching performance that surpasses standards and expectations, as evidenced by performance appraisals.
  • At least 2 years in a middle leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading school initiatives that have effectively improved standards and student achievement, along with engagement with parents and external agencies.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • A solid understanding of teaching and learning, with a track record of implementing effective strategies to elevate standards and address learning gaps.
  • Proficient in utilizing data to identify issues, intervene effectively, and evaluate the impact on learning.
  • Good judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Capability to manage confidential information appropriately.
