About This Role

Brighton College Vietnam is seeking to hire a Teacher of Mathematics to join our faculty in August 2026.

ROLE SPECIFICATION

The academic achievements of Brighton College Vietnam stem from exceptional, innovative, and well-structured instruction. We are in search of individuals who cultivate a love for learning and possess the ability and eagerness to help students reach their maximum potential. The ideal candidate will likely have extensive experience in teaching with a history of delivering effective instruction, reflected in outstanding public examination outcomes with prior classes.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their capacity to excel in a stimulating intellectual setting. The ability to motivate students is essential, along with a commitment to supporting the school's aspirations and values, and engaging in the wider College community. Successful applicants will be independent and adaptable, demonstrating high levels of initiative. A strong academic background, including a solid degree in a relevant field, is required.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Maths Department is an energetic, supportive, and effective team. The department is dedicated to teaching Mathematics in a comprehensive manner: recognizing its significance and relevance in the world, enhancing mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and inspiring students for future studies and careers. The team encourages a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere where innovative teaching methods (mastery approaches) and resources are welcomed. Each classroom is well-equipped, featuring an interactive whiteboard, teaching whiteboards and mini whiteboards, along with booklets and textbooks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Act as an ambassador for the College at all times, both within the school and throughout Vietnam.


Teach a designated timetable, fulfill staff duties (as assigned by SLT), and actively participate in the Co-Curricular Programme by leading at least two activities each week.

Teaching and Learning


Motivate each student to achieve their academic potential through engaging and personalized instruction, tailored challenges, and meticulous record-keeping and follow-up.


Adhere to all College policies, including those related to marking and assessment, teaching and learning, and reporting.


Develop and share schemes of work and resources, utilizing the agreed-upon formats.


Assist with covering for colleagues as needed.


Attend all required meetings and INSET sessions.


Prepare, supervise, and assess internal and external tests and examinations as necessary.

Pastoral


Take a genuine interest in each child's personal and domestic situation and promote the personal and social development of every student in your care.


Actively endorse the social, moral, and cultural values of the College community.


Foster a supportive environment by being aware of and fully adhering to all College policies.


Become familiar with all College policies on Health and Safety and proactively ensure the safety of all members of the College community at all times.


Encourage exemplary behavior and a responsible attitude among all students consistently.


Be aware of and act in accordance with all policies related to child safeguarding.

Professional Responsibilities


Promote a sense of pride in the College amongst the student body through behavior and dedication.


Ensure timely and appropriate action on all communications received.


Contribute to the College's website, social media, and publications as needed.


Participate in the College’s Self Evaluation and Development Plan.


Establish a strong partnership with parents, reaching out in appropriate situations.


Fulfill any reasonable professional requests made by the Head of College and SLT.

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
