About This Role
The Role
• Assume responsibility for the academic, personal, and social growth of students in the classroom by:
- delivering lessons and activities as instructed by the Prep School Head while ensuring compliance with King’s curriculum standards
- overseeing student behavior and fostering an environment of mutual respect within the classroom
- tracking student progress and evaluating their work
- preparing reports and meeting with parents as necessary
- accurately maintaining the class attendance register
- supervising playtime and lunch periods as directed
• Prioritize the welfare of the students at all times by:
- being an active member of one of the School’s Houses and engaging in related activities
- adhering to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
- communicating with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and parents as needed
- responsibly fulfilling weekly night duties in accordance with the School’s expectations and policies
• Contribute to the School’s co-curricular offerings by engaging in activities, clubs, etc., including:
- athletics
- arts
- academic enrichment programs
- outdoor activities
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned by the School’s Leadership Team, such as:
- being ready (within reason) to cover for absent colleagues
- collaborating with marketing and admissions efforts
- participating in staff meetings and in-service training
- attending school-wide events like Foundation Day
- serving on various school committees
