About This Role

Aldar Education is actively seeking an outstanding Teacher of ICT (Primary) for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, with an anticipated start date in the academic year 2026-2027.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic objectives while contributing to the improvement plan and self-evaluation targets.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and adhere to the academy's policies regarding safe working practices and equal opportunities.
• Follow the academy's Performance Management Policy by setting ambitious annual goals and, if requested by the Principal, acting as a performance management reviewer.
• Engage in annual training concerning child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, along with any required training for academy improvement or performance management.
• Attend all staff meetings and briefings.
• Create an environment that promotes exceptional Teaching and Learning.
• Set clear teaching objectives and outline methods for instruction and assessment.
• Develop engaging tasks that challenge students and sustain high levels of interest.
• Establish clear targets that build upon students' prior knowledge.
• Identify students with special educational needs or those who are exceptionally talented.
• Deliver structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation, and rigor.
• Utilize assessment effectively to ensure comprehensive curriculum coverage.
• Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning, allowing for customized learning that meets diverse needs.
• Ensure effective teaching practices and optimal use of available instructional time.
• Maintain a conducive learning environment aligned with the academy's procedures, promoting punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework completion.
• Employ various teaching methods to:
• Align approach with content, organize information, present key concepts, and utilize appropriate vocabulary.
• Use effective questioning techniques, listen attentively to students, and address errors and misconceptions.
• Choose suitable learning resources and promote study skills through library, ICT, and other learning technologies.
• Ensure students acquire and solidify knowledge, skills, and understanding relevant to the subject matter.
• Critically assess one's teaching to improve effectiveness.
• Systematically evaluate and track students' progress, maintaining records to monitor understanding and completion, and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• Conduct assessments as required by examination bodies, departmental, and academy guidelines.
• Prepare and deliver informative reports to parents.
• Participate in subject-specific initiatives or other areas of the academy's operations, creating plans that set clear targets and success criteria for development and maintenance.
• Support the broader vision of the academy through collaborative initiatives.
• Strive to provide each child with the opportunity to realize their potential and meet high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective resource sharing for the benefit of the academy, department, and students.
• Contribute to the overall life of the academy through active engagement in meetings and management systems essential for effective leadership and management.
• Participate in marketing and community outreach activities such as Open Evenings/Afternoons, Parent-Teacher Consultations, and events with partner academies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with a teaching qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience teaching a specialized subject.

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
