Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
- A valid teaching certificate recognized by, or eligibility for certification in Nunavut (Internationally educated teachers without a Canadian teaching certificate must have their credentials assessed through Pathways To Teach Canada)

Language and Cultural Assets
- Proficiency in Inuktitut (both written and verbal)
- Experience in educational settings that align with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles
- Background in bilingual or ESL teaching
- Experience in cross-cultural or northern Canadian educational environments
Teaching Practice & Classroom Environment
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
- Training or experience in evidence-based literacy development
- Experience with current assessment strategies to guide learning
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques (e.g., Restitution, Tribes, Positive Effective Behavior Supports)

- Proven history of developing respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and stakeholders
- Experience in promoting student well-being and engagement
- Participation with students beyond the classroom, when appropriate
Collaboration & Professional Practice
- Experience in collaborative instructional planning
