Position Overview
We are searching for a passionate and committed educator to join our diverse team as a Grade KG-7 Elementary School Teacher. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding education tailored to the distinct needs and capabilities of our students. This role requires a deep understanding of various teaching methodologies, excellent communication skills, and a fervor for fostering a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that comply with the BC curriculum and educational standards.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, both individually and in groups.
- Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes inquisitive thinking and self-exploration.
- Collaborate with peers to design interdisciplinary units and projects that integrate multiple subject areas.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to cultivate a positive learning environment.
- Continuously assess and provide feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to refine teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
- Foster strong relationships with families, the Sikh temple, and the wider community to enhance students' holistic development.
Qualifications
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate.
- Bachelor of Education Degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by the BC Ministry of Education.
- Familiarity with various teaching strategies and the concept of multiple intelligences.
- A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth.
- A flexible and adaptable teaching approach in a diverse setting.

- Teachers are required to cover their heads with a bandana while on school property, during field trips, and on professional development days.
- Teachers must provide vegetarian snacks and lunches (no meat, eggs, or fish) while on school premises and during school hours.
