Job Description

Location: Him Lam International School – Him Lam Green Park, Bac Ninh, Vietnam.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students benefiting from Student Support Services.

- Create customized Curriculum Plans for students with adjusted academic needs.

- Deliver small group instruction and individualized support for SSS students.

- Organize IEP and Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC).

- Prepare Behavior Management Plans for students facing behavioral challenges.

- Assist homeroom teachers by providing classroom support to ensure IEP accommodations are met.

- Conduct assessments, observations, and track progress for students receiving SSS.

- Lead orientation sessions for teachers to enhance their understanding of students with special educational needs, focusing on developing skills such as fine motor skills, executive functioning, behavior management, and daily living skills.

- Cultivate an inclusive learning environment for all students, particularly those with ADHD and ASD.

- Organize parent conferences to strengthen relationships that support student success.

- Establish daily routines to encourage discipline among students.

- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Pedagogy, or a related discipline.

- Valid teaching or education certifications.

Experience

- At least 3 years of teaching experience, including a minimum of 1 year in Special Education.

Skills & Knowledge

- A dedicated commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to build trusting relationships with students and their families.

- Proficient in behavior management strategies, adept at managing confrontations and challenging behaviors.

- Proven initiative and effective problem-solving skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, teaching assistants, and professionals such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and social workers.

- Demonstrate flexibility, patience, understanding, and empathy towards students and parents.
