About This Role
Following an increase in student enrollment, we have additional openings for Secondary teachers set to begin in August 2025. The current position available is:
**School Counsellor**
**Job Description:**
The chosen candidate will engage with students throughout the entire school (ages 2-18) and their families. The counselling approach at BSJ is mainly a therapeutic one-on-one service focused on addressing the social-emotional needs of our students.
We are looking for someone who is adaptable and responsive, possessing outstanding interpersonal skills along with current knowledge and training in the counselling field. Familiarity with the region is preferred but not mandatory.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Design appropriate interventions and maintain accurate case records for students.
- Refer clients to external professionals when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Child Protection Team as needed.
- Work within and contribute to the school framework, coordinating with relevant staff members, including nursing staff, librarians, wellbeing tutors, class teachers, and subject teachers.
- Participate in professional development courses as required.
- Assist in the organization and delivery of Parenting Workshops.
- Provide timely assemblies and relevant workshops for the school community.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A proven record of outstanding counselling experience.
- Capability to counsel students in the Secondary age group.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience relevant to the qualifications for this position.
