About This Role
About the role | Mō te Tūranga
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a people-focused leader who can build trust, foster collaboration, and confidently navigate a range of perspectives. You’ll bring strong people leadership along solid operational capability. This is a varied role, encompassing pastoral care for students | tauira, coordination of key milestones such as orientation and graduation, and contributing to the academic success of Te Rito Maioha.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Work with a team of lecturers, supporting them to deliver engaging programmes at the Undergraduate, Graduate and Postgraduate levels
- Be a visible presence for our students – from teaching and pastoral care to assessment visits and noho marae.
- Connect with your local community – building strong relationships with iwi, ECE centres and schools.
- Play a key role in our milestone events, including graduation
- Contribute to research that strengthens our sector.
About you | Mōu
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven professional leadership/people management skills
- The ability to foster a culture of respect and collaboration
- A master’s degree in education or higher teaching qualifications plus experience teaching and/or mentoring adults at tertiary level
- Teacher registration and a current practicing certificate
- A current full driver's license and vehicle for work use
- ECE or primary sector experience
