PYP Primary Teacher Grade 4 (Maternity Cover)

About the Role:

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic PYP IB Primary Teacher substitute (to cover a maternity leave until January 2025) to become part of our lively international school community at Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada in Benalmádena, Málaga. The ideal candidate will be tasked with teaching the English National Curriculum in Primary as well as the IB PYP curriculum, creating an enriching learning atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the PYP and British National Curriculum.
• Design and implement high-quality lessons tailored to a diverse range of students.
• Create and regularly update unit of inquiry plans, ensuring they meet IB and British National Curriculum standards and the school's goals.
• Employ various teaching techniques through inquiry-based learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop cohesive and comprehensive teaching strategies as a team.
• Evaluate and track student progress, offering constructive feedback and support to help them meet their academic objectives.
• Motivate students to take an active role in their learning, promoting a classroom culture grounded in respect and inquiry.
• Engage in school community activities, including extracurricular programs and events, to support the overall development of students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Primary teaching.
• Proficient in English.
• Experience teaching PYP or a similar curriculum in an international educational setting.
• Strong grasp of the IB philosophy and framework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to inspire and motivate students from various cultural backgrounds.
