Dubai British School Emirates Hills is actively seeking a talented Teacher of English & Media Studies, with the position commencing in August 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join our ‘Outstanding’ school, recognized by both BSO and KHDA.

We are looking for a highly qualified educator in English and Media Studies, capable of teaching both GCSE and A Level. Your responsibilities will include delivering lessons that foster a deep understanding of literature, strong analytical writing skills, and confident media literacy. You will guide students in critically analyzing complex texts, forming well-structured arguments, and creating high-quality practical coursework across diverse media formats, such as film, audio, print, and digital. We are seeking an individual with a successful track record of achieving strong academic outcomes and who can effectively blend academic rigor with creative production, encouraging critical thinking, effective communication, and originality. It is essential that you can inspire curiosity, support high-achieving students, and engage all learners confidently with language and media.

Curriculum

Professional Requirements

In line with KHDA regulations, we only consider candidates with recognized teaching qualifications and a relevant degree.

  • A high-quality degree in English, Media Studies, or a related field (Must be MOFA Attested).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (Must be MOFA Attested).
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the National Curriculum for England, either in the UK or UAE.
  • Essential experience teaching GCSE and A Level in English and/or Media Studies.
  • Proven ability to deliver inspiring lessons and a history of excellent student outcomes.
  • A strong commitment to the well-being of all students in your care.
