ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Skownan School caters to students from Nursery through Grade 9, serving a total of 130 learners with the support of 10 teaching professionals and 17 support staff. Located in Skownan, approximately one and a half hours northeast of Dauphin, the community offers essential services including a gas bar, convenience store, restaurant, and health centre. The local economy is primarily driven by hunting, fishing, and eco-tourism.

WHAT YOU BRING

• A Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• In-depth knowledge of provincial curricula.
• Previous teaching experience.
• Proficiency with technology utilized in educational settings.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Understanding of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset).
• Experience in a northern community (considered an asset).
