Pelican Falls First Nations High School is a private educational establishment overseen by the Northern Nishnawbe Education Council, operating with the support of the Sioux Lookout Area Chiefs and First Nation communities. This unique institution is located on Pelican Lake, within the traditional territory of Lac Seul First Nation and the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference will be given to candidates with Intermediate/Senior qualifications in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, or Technology, although this is not a strict requirement.
- Applicants must hold a current membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
- Experience with teaching First Nation students is a valued asset.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in computer skills.
- A thorough understanding and respect for First Nations culture and traditions are crucial.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required.
POSITION
Permanent/Full-time
SALARY
Based on QECO rating (Years 0 to 11) as follows:
- A1 - $54,280 - $89,063
- A2 - $56,513 - $95,029
- A3 - $60,967 - $102,973
- A4 - $63,862 - $109,533
All staff members are entitled to 13 weeks of vacation, which can be utilized as vacation days, financial compensation, or a combination of both.
