The Head of Music plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction, visibility and impact of Music across the whole school. This post combines inspirational leadership of the Music Department with the creativity and initiative to introduce new ideas, raise the profile of Music and maintain the take up of Music at GCSE.
This is a wide-ranging role and candidates may bring different experience and skills. Candidates are encouraged to apply whatever their musical backgrounds.
The role requires dynamic collaboration, most notably with the Head of Drama to deliver high‑quality creative projects, alongside the liturgical life of the school, leadership of all concerts, performances and musical events throughout the year.
As an expert classroom practitioner, the Head of Music will be able to teach KS3 - 5, ensuring excellent provision for all learners and maintaining the highest standards of assessment, planning and reporting. The post-holder will uphold strong pastoral care as a Form Teacher, contribute fully to school life, and model the professionalism, energy and commitment expected within this vibrant and ambitious school community.
