Cognita, in collaboration with Brighton College, is on the lookout for a dynamic Head of Maths (Senior School) with a start date in August 2025. This individual will oversee all facets of the math curriculum for Key Stage 3 and higher, as Brighton College (Singapore) evolves from an exceptional Prep School into a prominent all-through institution, catering to students from Pre-Nursery to Year 13.

Reporting to the Deputy Head Academic, the Head of Maths will guide the pedagogical leadership of the math curriculum and ensure that high-quality teaching is consistently maintained across all Key Stages. In August 2025, the Senior School at Brighton College (Singapore) will welcome its first cohort of Years 7, 8, 9, and 10. The Head of Maths will be responsible for teaching all Key Stage 3 year groups and will take the lead in IGCSE and higher-level teaching as the school expands from August 2026 onwards. Therefore, candidates must demonstrate a proven record of achieving outstanding academic results in GCSE/IGCSE and A-level in their previous roles.

Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the teaching, progress, and achievement of all students in Years 7 to 10 starting August 2025, and for subsequent senior year groups in the following years.
- Lead all aspects of curriculum design and execution, including preparation for the inaugural IGCSE Year 10 cohort beginning in August 2025.
- Foster excellence, creativity, and innovation across the math curriculum.
- Exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Oversee all aspects of assessment, tracking, and reporting for mathematics.
- Show the experience and capability to teach mathematics across all relevant Key Stages (including IGCSE/GCSE and A-level).
- Serve as an exemplary classroom educator, leading by example.
- Establish and implement rigorous self-evaluation procedures.
- Develop and manage the department's extension and enrichment programs.
- Provide the necessary experience and expertise to assist students in future university applications, including to prestigious institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge.
- Ensure students have avenues to prepare for and engage in global math competitions, offering suitable challenges.
- Collaborate with the Heads of EAL and AEN to create pathways for students requiring additional assistance.
- Partner with Prep School middle and senior leaders to ensure a seamless transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
- Create the required curriculum and departmental documentation for both current and prospective parents.
- Work with the Head of Admissions to assess math proficiency at entry to the Senior School.
- Contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and the school’s pastoral system by acting as a tutor for a Senior School year group.
- Engage in the co-curricular activities of the school.
- Complete any other reasonable management task as required.
