Mistawasis Nêhiyawak is on the lookout for dedicated and enthusiastic educators to become part of our team as Elementary Classroom Teachers for the 2025–2026 school year at Chief Mistawasis School.
About the Role
Working under the leadership of the School Principal, Elementary Teachers will play a crucial role in enriching student learning through inclusive, culturally relevant, and engaging classroom experiences. These educators will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to foster student achievement and personal growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing the core curriculum in accordance with Saskatchewan Ministry of Education standards
- Creating a safe, supportive, and responsive learning environment
- Integrating Indigenous culture, language, and land-based learning practices
- Adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Participating in professional development and engaging in school initiatives
- Maintaining consistent communication with families to encourage student progress
This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about working with Indigenous students and are committed to a community-centered approach to education.
Qualifications & Requirements
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning capabilities
- Understanding of trauma-informed and land-based educational methods
- Experience within First Nations communities is a plus
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
