Assistant Principal (Primary)
About This Role
GEMS Al Barsha National School is on the lookout for a seasoned Assistant Principal to join the Primary leadership team and oversee English instruction throughout the primary school starting August 2026.
In the role of Primary Assistant Principal, you will uphold the school’s vision, core values, mission, aims, and policies. You will contribute to the effective leadership and management of the institution while striving to maintain the highest standards in teaching, learning, curriculum development, student achievement, and pastoral care within the primary team.
Key responsibilities of the Assistant Principal include:
- Actively participating in the strategic planning and self-review processes of the school.
- Leading, developing, and managing teaching and learning, the curriculum, target-setting, assessment, tracking, recording, and reporting for the primary team.
- Taking a prominent role in curriculum development within the primary team in collaboration with senior and middle leaders as well as all teaching staff.
- Collaborating with senior leadership team members to set targets, assess, and track data within the primary team.
- Being accountable for the standards of attainment, progress, achievement, and behavior within the primary team, monitoring and evaluating progress in these areas to identify further improvement actions.
- Possessing a strong understanding of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and Supplement, UAE Vision 2021, and the National Agenda, leveraging this knowledge to enhance leadership and management within the primary team.
