About This Role

Join us in Macau as a dedicated educator for young learners in an international setting, where we focus on integrating strong character and moral values with academic, artistic, and physical growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Instruct students in all subjects: Devotions and Character Development, English, Mathematics, Science, Story/Song time, Physical Education, and Art.
- Organize and engage in field trips, performances, Holy Day celebrations, and classroom observations throughout the academic year.
- Foster strong connections with parents through involvement in school and community events and activities.

KINDERGARTEN

Our Kindergarten department is a supportive community where teachers collaborate closely. We provide three years of educational instruction, from K1 to K3. K1 consists of three classes, each accommodating up to 16 students. In K2, students are split into two classes with a maximum of 24 pupils. Each Kindergarten class benefits from a general homeroom teacher and a Mandarin language instructor. Additionally, a teaching assistant is available for each K1 and K2 class.

We implement an award-winning, in-house developed integrated curriculum that focuses on three primary areas: Character Development, Science, and Mathematics. Each area incorporates diverse methods and activities designed to enhance moral, social, and intellectual growth in children starting from age 3. Successful teachers are those who can effectively deliver this curriculum while embodying joyfulness and serving as role models in character.

WORKING HOURS

Teachers work 36 hours per week, which encompasses up to twenty 45-minute teaching periods, various responsibilities, and time allocated for planning.

Teachers enjoy approximately 30 days of holidays throughout the year, including breaks for Winter and the Chinese Spring Festival, in addition to around 50 days of summer leave. Monthly Saturday workdays, often centered on community engagement and extension activities, help us extend our holiday breaks while fulfilling contact day requirements.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual base salary, inclusive of housing allowance, is around US$44,000 after tax and is adjusted slightly based on experience. This figure excludes the annual travel allowance, New Year bonus, pension contributions, and a yearly re-enlistment bonus equivalent to one month’s salary. The Macau government also generously offers teachers a professional development subsidy of at least US$600 per month. Altogether, the total after-tax compensation for teachers is approximately US$58,000.

Benefits include local healthcare coverage, reduced tuition for up to two dependents attending the school, opportunities for internal professional development, and help with apartment searches, which includes a one-week hotel stay.

- Kindergarten teaching qualifications, such as a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education OR any bachelor’s degree accompanied by a post-graduate certification in early years education (PGCE).
