About This Role
UWCSEA East is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Part Time Teacher of Middle School Art to become a part of our team starting August 2026.
The ideal candidate should be a passionate and adaptable Art instructor, committed to creating and enhancing an engaging and thoughtfully designed Art curriculum. A successful history of motivating students, nurturing their appreciation for Art, and helping them achieve personal creative growth is essential. A solid understanding of the developmental needs specific to 11–14 year-olds, along with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young adolescents, is crucial.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the educator is expected to play an active role in department projects, support interdisciplinary efforts, and participate in wider school activities. Familiarity with the local art community is greatly valued, as is a readiness to build connections with local artists and art organizations to enhance students’ educational experiences.
Please be advised that applicants must possess an internationally recognized qualification and currently reside in Singapore. Availability from August 2026 is also required.
Main Responsibilities

Expectations and Standards
• Adhere to the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Code of Conduct
• Deliver instruction in accordance with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards
Person Specifications
• A degree in Art or a related discipline, along with an internationally recognized teaching qualification or certification, is required.
• Residency in Singapore
• Contribute positively to the collaborative culture within the Visual Arts department and the broader Middle School teams.
• Create and implement learning experiences that challenge students, accommodate diverse learners, and align with concept-based teaching methodologies.
• Utilize the UWCSEA Learning Principles as a basis for effective teaching and learning.
• Develop assessments that encourage ongoing learning, providing timely, relevant, and constructive feedback on both formative and summative evaluations.
• Exhibit effective classroom management, addressing the academic, social, and emotional aspects of student learning.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with parents, keeping them updated on their child’s progress and educational journey.
