About This Role
Benenden Bilingual School Guangzhou is on the lookout for qualified individuals to fill the role of Teacher of General Science for the academic year 2025-2026.
In the position of Teacher of General Science, you will be instrumental in providing all students with access to a comprehensive curriculum, ensuring a high standard of education that enhances learning outcomes and student achievement. You will manage all facets of teaching and learning, collaborating with a committed and professional team of educators.
• Effective Teaching: Provide high-quality instruction in your assigned classes, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technologies to motivate and engage students.
• Assessment and Feedback: Promptly and accurately assess and grade student work in accordance with departmental assessment protocols. Prepare necessary reports and assign tasks in line with school requirements.
• Constructive Communication: Deliver clear and constructive feedback to students, parents, and caregivers, nurturing a supportive educational environment.
• Additional Support: Provide supplementary assistance to students as needed beyond scheduled lessons, helping with knowledge consolidation and opportunities for further learning. Take part in regular professional development sessions to exchange best practices.
• Wellbeing Monitoring: Remain attentive to the social-emotional wellbeing of students, tracking their academic progress and advising them on setting and reaching suitable targets.
• Safeguarding and Development: Assist in the safeguarding and promotion of health, safety, and good conduct, contributing to the academic and personal growth of students.
• Progress Monitoring: Continuously evaluate and report on the academic progress of your designated group/class, maintaining open lines of communication with parents.
• Effective Parent Communication: Communicate effectively with class parents, providing updates and fostering a collaborative partnership to support student success.
Typical General Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Typical Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in pedagogy, teacher education, or related fields.
• Relevant teaching credentials and certifications.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in K12 education.
• Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
• Strong educational and teaching knowledge to support curriculum development and design.
• Comprehensive understanding, expertise, and awareness of the social, emotional, and learning needs of students.
