About This Role
Key Responsibilities
•
Design and implement dynamic, well-organized lessons.
•
Oversee departmental planning, which includes curriculum mapping, assessment strategies, and ensuring alignment with school objectives and external exam standards.
•
At least 2 years of experience in a Head of Department role.
•
Tailor instruction to accommodate the varied needs of students, facilitating academic growth at all levels.
•
Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-structured classroom atmosphere that encourages high standards and student participation.
•
Utilize both formative and summative assessments effectively to track student progress, guide instruction, and enhance achievement.
•
Assist students in their academic, social, and emotional growth, adhering to the attributes of the IB learner profile.
•
Thoroughly prepare students for external assessments at IGCSE and A Level.
•
Collaborate with colleagues to develop the curriculum, exchange best practices, and continuously enhance teaching and learning.
Requirements:
Essential
•
A Bachelor’s Degree in Science or a related discipline.
•
At least 3 years of experience teaching Science at the Secondary School level.
•
Experience with IGCSE and/or A Level Science is essential.
•
Strong skills in classroom and behavior management.
•
Demonstrated ability to support and enhance student progress.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
•
Fluent or native-level proficiency in English.
Desirable
•
Experience with teaching the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
•
Background in international school environments.
