About This Role

Aldar Education is on the lookout for an exceptional Key Stage Leader to join The Pearl British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Applicants should possess a solid understanding of teaching and leading a phase within the English National Curriculum. Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and execute policies and practices for the department that align with the School's vision, objectives, commitment to high achievement standards, and effective teaching and learning;
• Create, oversee, and assess short, medium, and long-term plans for departmental development;
• Utilize data effectively to identify students underperforming in the department; devise and implement action plans to assist those students;
• Analyze and interpret pertinent school data to guide policy decisions and contribute to the department/school SEF documentation;
• Ensure that relevant and appropriate schemes of work are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for all year groups and courses, including suitable provisions for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students;
• Guarantee curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students in the department, including those with high abilities and special educational needs;
• Set expectations for staff regarding achievement standards, teaching quality, and behavior;
• Assess the quality of teaching and learning within the department, using this analysis to recognize effective practices and areas needing improvement; take steps to enhance the quality of teaching and learning;
• Manage team performance in line with the school’s performance management policy;
• Ensure the efficient deployment of staff and resources;
• Maintain effective control over the Department's Resource and CapEx budgets;
• Utilize facilities effectively to foster a stimulating teaching and learning environment in accordance with the Learning Environment Policy;

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in the relevant subject, along with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• At least 6 years of teaching experience.
• Familiarity with the UK curriculum.
